A Brief History of Beards

My first real beard began on January 15, 2005 in Madrid, Spain. It ended, after traveling through 11 European countries and returning to America, on June 5, 2005, for a total of 141 glorious bearded days.

My second real beard began on (or around, the records have been lost) August 23, 2006 in Prague, Czech Republic (or a few days earlier in San Diego/San Francisco/Boston, again the records are currently lost). After travels to 12 countries, my beard ended in order to ensure I could get through customs in Paris on December 15. All told, I had 114 amazing bearded days in central and eastern Europe (along with a trip to Western Europe).

My third real beard began on December 14, 2007 because it was beginning to get cold in DC and I figured why not, I love beards and all. On March 17, 2008, in anticipation of my parents' visit (and my mother's birthday), my beard was brought to an end. The (Soul Crushing) District of Colombia ((SC)DC), as well as New York City and New Jersey, enjoyed 77 days of bearded greatness.

The current incarnation, my fourth real beard, began on April 30, 2008 following a trip to Paris and an aborted presentation about Nigeria. It has now existed for 69 days, but with the brutally oppressive DC heat it appears likely its days are numbered. However, up to this point I have only spent 42 of the 190 days in 2008 beardless.

First Post

This is my first post. A Trial Run.

This blog is dedicated to my lovely and wonderful beard. I love it more than I have ever loved anyone or anything (Except my previous beard).

There will be much commentary on my beard as well as many pictures.

I am sure you will enjoy this! I know I will!
